This work reflects on winter as a season of respite. As hot flushes, night sweats, and sleeplessness reshape the relationship between body and self, the winter air offers a temporary return to comfort and knowing. Departing from Bonnie’s characteristic frantic mark-making, fluid lines and a muted autumnal palette evoke a sense of ease, stillness, and relief. The work explores the physical and emotional realities of premature menopause, and winter’s ability to provide refuge, rest, and belonging within a body that feels unfamiliar.
